 ### **Churros con Chocolate (Spanish-Style Fried Dough with Chocolate Sauce)** Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in cinnamon sugar, churros are the perfect treat when paired with thick, rich hot chocolate. #### **Ingredients** **For the Churros:** - 1 cup **water** - 2 tbsp **unsalted butter** - 1 tbsp **granulated sugar** - 1/4 tsp **salt** - 1 cup **all-purpose flour** - 1 large **egg** - 1/2 tsp **vanilla extract** - Oil for frying (vegetable or canola) **For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:** - 1/2 cup **granulated sugar** - 1 tsp **cinnamon** **For the Chocolate Sauce:** - 1/2 cup **heavy cream** - 100g **dark chocolate (chopped)** - 1 tbsp **sugar** (optional) - 1/2 tsp **vanilla extract** --- ### **Instructions** ### **1. Make the Churro Dough** - In a saucepan, heat **water, butter, sugar, and salt** over medium heat. - Once the butter melts and the mixture starts to simmer, remove from heat. - Add the **flour** all at once and stir vigorously until the dough forms a smooth ball. - Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then mix in the **egg** and **vanilla extract** until smooth. ### **2. Pipe & Fry the Churros** - Transfer the dough into a **piping bag with a star tip**. - Heat **oil** in a deep pan to **175°C (350°F)**. - Pipe 4-5 inch strips of dough directly into the oil, cutting with scissors. - Fry for **2-3 minutes per side** until golden brown. - Drain on paper towels. ### **3. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar** - Mix **sugar and cinnamon** in a shallow dish. - Roll the warm churros in the mixture to coat evenly. ### **4. Make the Chocolate Sauce** - Heat **heavy cream** in a saucepan until warm (but not boiling). - Remove from heat and stir in **chopped dark chocolate** until melted. - Add **sugar** and **vanilla extract**, stirring until smooth. ### **5.
